North Haven Fun Facts: North Haven is located in New Haven County and has a population of about 24,000 people. According to Wikipedia, North Haven is home to Quinnipiac University and is 10 miles from downtown New Haven and Yale University. At one point, North Haven was ranked as the eighty-sixth “best place to live” in the United States by Money Magazine. In his will, James Pierpont of New Haven, gave 8 acres of ground to his neighbors in the north that later became North Haven. North Haven is located along the Quinnipiac River, and the railroad constructed along the river gave boom to the town in the 19th century.
