Southington Fun Facts: According to Wikipedia, Southington is home to approximately 42,000 people and includes the villages of Marion, Milldale, and Plantsville. Samuel Woodruff first settled the area in 1698, and the settlement grew, prospered, and came to be known as “South Farmington”. It was then later shortened to Southington. George Washington famously passed through the town in 1770.
